“I Need You” is a pop ballad by the band America released in 1972 from their eponymous debut album America as the second single. The song was written by the lead singer of the band, Gerry Beckley, together with his then-two co-band-mates Dan Peek & Dewey Bunnell, Ian Samwell, and Jeff Dexter as the producer. It appears on their live albums Live (1977), In Concert (1985), In Concert (King Biscuit) & Horse With No Name - Live! (1995), and The Grand Cayman Concert (2002).
