“September Gurls” is a song written by Alex Chilton for Big Star’s second album Radio City, released in 1974. The song was also released as a single. While it never was a big seller, it is considered a classic song by publications such as Rolling Stone and Allmusic. The song was rated #178 by Rolling Stone in their top 500 songs of all time and is described as a “Power Pop classic”.
