“Spinning Around” is a song by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue. It was written by Ira Shickman, Osborne Bingham, Kara DioGuardi, and Paula Abdul, and produced by Mike Spencer. It was originally intended for Paula Abdul’s “comeback” album. However, as the album never came into fruition, it was given to Minogue, who recorded it for her seventh studio album Light Years (2000). Musically, the song is a dance song with strong disco influences. Through the lyrics, Minogue declares that she is not the same person as before, and that she has reinvented herself.
