“Into the Groove” is a song by American singer-songwriter Madonna from the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan. It was featured on the 1985 re-issue of her second studio album, Like a Virgin, and released on July 23, 1985 by Warner Bros. Records as the fourth single of the album. The song later was included on her 2009 greatest hits album, Celebration, and its remixed versions appeared on the 1987 remix compilation, You Can Dance, and the 1990 greatest hits compilation, The Immaculate Collection. Madonna’s inspiration behind the song was the dancefloor, and she wrote it while watching a handsome Puerto Rican man, across her balcony.
