Gone Shootin is the 7th song on AC/DC’s Powerage album. The song was featured in the movie Beavis and Butt-head Do America. The song, written by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, along with Bon Scott, is about heroin overdose. It is notable for being one of their slower, more relaxed songs, with a somewhat bluesy riff. Along with this, the bass is very active during the song; as Angus is soloing Cliff has his own solo-like bass line. Drummer Phil Rudd plays one of his tightest, “in-the-pocket” grooves incorporating an unusual (for AC/DC) off-beat tom every second bar.
