“Mainstreet” is the title of a song written and recorded by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band. The eponymous street is in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Seger’s childhood home. It was released in April 1977 as the fourth single from the album Night Moves. The song peaked at #24 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and has since become a staple of classic rock radio. The song also reached number-one in Canada. Seger stated that people have asked him what street he was taking about, and that it is actually Ann Street, just off Main Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he grew up.
