“Anticipation” is a song by Carly Simon. It was the most famous track from her 1971 album of the same name, reaching #13 on the U.S. pop charts. The song relates Simon’s state of mind as she waits to go on a date with Cat Stevens.. The Filipino singer Nora Aunor recorded an easy listening version of “Anticipation” in 1973 on the Mayon Records label. The song was notably used in commercials for Heinz Ketchup through the late 1970s into the 1980s. It was covered by Dinosaur Jr frontman J Mascis on his 1996 solo acoustic album, Martin + Me.
