“A Movie Script Ending” is a song by American indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie, and the first single release from the band’s third studio album, The Photo Album. The song was released on February 8, 2002. The song begins with references to “the air on Railroad” and “the shopfronts on Holly,“ Railroad and Holly being two intersecting streets in downtown Bellingham, Washington, Death Cab for Cutie’s hometown. The song also refers to The Beaver Inn with the line: “We peered through the windows, new bottoms on barstools but the people remain the same, with prices inflating.“ This was the first song by Death Cab For Cutie to be included on The O.C., appearing in the episode “The Escape” in season one.
