“In Too Deep” is the fourth track on the 1986 Genesis album Invisible Touch. It was released as the second single from the LP in the UK (was the fifth single in the US). A performance of the song was included on the 1992 live album . The lyric of the song was written by singer Phil Collins after he was approached to write a song for the soundtrack of the movie Mona Lisa’‘. In a 2007 interview with the website Genesis-The Movement, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford remarked that “In Too Deep” may make its way onto the setlist for the North American leg of the tour. It was not played on the European portion, but said this song may replace “Ripples”, as “In Too Deep” was a bigger hit in America than Europe and vice versa.
