“Give Me the Night” is the title track to George Benson’s 1980 album of the same name. The single was Benson’s first to hit number one on the U.S. R&B chart and reached number four on the Pop Singles chart, making it his most successful pop entry. It was written by Heatwave’s keyboard player Rod Temperton. “Give Me the Night also reached number two on the Hot Disco Singles chart. This song was also performed by Randy Crawford in 1996.
