“Clint Eastwood” is a song by Gorillaz. It was released as the first single from their debut album in March 2001. It peaked at the #4 in the UK and #57 in the US on 11 September 2001. The single has sold 480,000 copies in the UK according to the Official UK Charts Company.
The song is a mix of electronic, hip hop and rock with a melodic line similar to the main theme of the classic western film, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (which stars Clint Eastwood, who is not mentioned in the song itself). The verses are rapped by Del tha Funkee Homosapien, portrayed as a blue phantom/hologram in the video, while the chorus is sung by Damon Albarn.
In some live performances alternative rappers are used. The Phi Life Cypher version misses out the chorus and uses the UK hip-hop group Phi Life...
