“Animals” is the second single by Canadian rock band Nickelback off their fifth studio album All the Right Reasons. The song is about a guy (presumbly a teenager) who picks up his girlfriend. They proceed to have sex in the car acting wild like “animals,“ until the girl’s father catches them in the act at the end of the song. It can be compared with one of the band’s previous singles, “Figured You Out,“ in that it contains strong sexual overtones and metaphors. The song was a U.S. and Australian radio only single, therefore a music video was not made. It did considerably well for a radio only single, hitting #1 on the Mainstream rock chart and holding it for 6 weeks, #16 on the Modern rock chart, and even managing to chart on the Hot 100 at #97.
