“Come Rain or Come Shine” is a popular music song written by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. The song was written for the musical St. Louis Woman, and was published in 1946. Recordings were made in 1946 by Sy Oliver (with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra), Dinah Shore, Helen Forrest and Dick Haymes, and Margaret Whiting. Although the song did not actually make the charts in the period following its publication, it has become a standard. The Sy Oliver/Tommy Dorsey version was recorded on January 31, 1946. The recording was released by RCA Victor Records as catalog number 20-1819. The Dinah Shore version was recorded on March 18, 1946.
