“Knock Me Down” is a song by the funk rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers from their fourth studio album, Mother’s Milk (1989). The track was released as the album’s first single and depicts a negativity towards the stereotypically egotistic lifestyle of a typical rock-star and was considered to be disavowing of drugs. “Knock Me Down” became the band’s first hit by peaking at number six on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks. Vocalist Anthony Kiedis and guitarist John Frusciante sing the lyrics simultaneously, but the track was mixed in such a way that Frusciante’s vocals are more prevalent than Kiedis’.
