The Twilight Zone” is the third track on Rush’s album 2112. It was released in 1976. As with most Rush songs, the lyrics are written by Neil Peart. It is based on two episodes of The Twilight Zone: “Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?“ (first verse) and “Stopover in a Quiet Town” (second verse). It was the first single to be released from 2112.
It is notable that Rush had already credited Rod Serling, the host of The Twilight Zone television series, on their last album and would again on their next. This was the last track done for the album, another fantasy trip, this time through the fourth dimension.
