“Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While)“ is a song written by the songwriting team of Holland–Dozier–Holland and originally recorded in 1964 by Eddie Holland. Holland’s version was not released commercially until 2005. Kim Weston recorded the song in 1965 and her version became a top five R&B hit and a top 50 Pop hit in the U.S. The Isley Brothers took their version to the R&B Top 20 in 1967. The Doobie Brothers covered the song in 1975 and went to number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Doobies vocalist and guitarist Tom Johnston told Songfacts: “I had been a fan of that song since it came out somewhere in the ‘60s. I just loved that song.
