The best-known recording of the song was made by Guy Mitchell in 1952, and was a number one single in the UK Singles Chart in 1953. It was only the sixth single to reach number one in the UK. Alberto Semprini, on pianoforte with rhythm accompaniment, recorded it in London as the first song of the medley “Dancing to the piano (No. 20) - Hit medley of quick-steps” along with “Wild Roses” “Don’t Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes.
