“Everyday Is a Winding Road” is the second single from American rock star Sheryl Crow’s 1996 self-titled album. The song met well with radio and peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Neil Finn, lead singer of Crowded House, provides backing vocals. It also peaked at #12 on the UK Singles Chart. Paul Hester, another member of the band, was the inspiration for the song. This song is accompanied with a music video, directed by Peggy Sirota, filmed in sepia tone in New York City which features a toy airplane flying from person to person throughout the city. It also garnered a nomination for Record of the Year at the 1998 Grammy Awards but lost to “Sunny Came Home” by Shawn Colvin.
