The single peaked at #2 in February 1986. “Burning Heart,“ which is about an “all or nothing” battle was inspired by the Cold War, as shown by lyrics such as “Is it East versus West?“ or “Can any nation stand alone?“ The song fits well to the plot of Rocky IV because of the conflict between the Soviet Union- the Communist East- and the United States, the capitalist West.
