“Gone Away” is a song by American rock band The Offspring. It is the seventh track on their fourth studio album Ixnay on the Hombre (1997) and was released as the second single from the album. The song also appears as the sixth track on their Greatest Hits (2005). The song peaked at #1 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks, becoming their only #1 song on this chart, while reaching #4 on the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. Through 2009, The Offspring have played “Gone Away” with Dexter Holland performing on piano while live throughout Europe and in the United States. Two of the tracks from this single (“D.U.I.“ and “Hey Joe”) will appear on the band’s 2010 Japan only compilation album Happy Hour!. Read on...
