okay, I say this a lot, but I REALLY think this is my favorite Soundgarden song EVER(?!!)....Chris Cornell's lyrics are amazing - kind of 'mocking' the elevated status that we, or society as a whole, seem to give to celebrities (read: people we don't even know personally), and the music is absolutely mesmorizing!!! To me, "Burden In My Hand" is also a testament to what Soundgarden was all about - sure Chris & band was/is gorgeous, but they never played "that game" - it was ALWAYS about the MUSIC, as it should be (it makes me laugh remembering how many 'girls' were heartbroken when Cornell first cut his hair, or "mane" as it was known back then; Soundagarden was a SERIOUS ROCK band, unconcerned with 'image', and their focus paid off in GOLD (PLATINUM??!!)...gotta love 'em, and love this song, and love Chris, and...well, you get it : )
